How reputation works on Payperbit

What is reputation?

Reputation is a score that reflects how reliable a store or user has been in past trades and disputes. It helps others decide who to trust without relying on real-world identities.

How merchants earn reputation

Merchants gain reputation by successfully completing trades, avoiding disputes and solving issues fairly when they appear. Negative outcomes or repeated disputes can reduce their score.

How buyers earn reputation

Buyers earn reputation by acting fairly, not abusing disputes and providing accurate feedback. Repeated dishonest claims or bad behavior can hurt their score.

Reputation and judges

Only users with solid reputation are allowed to act as judges. Their performance in disputes can improve or hurt their own score as well.

Why reputation matters

Higher reputation means more trust from the community, better chances of being selected as a judge, and often more customers willing to trade with you.

Can I reset my reputation?

You can always create new stores or use new wallets, but reputation tied to a specific store or identity does not magically vanish. Consistent, honest behavior is the best way to build and keep a strong reputation.
